Bio

Eric J. Lane is a partner of Lane & Lane, LLC and devotes his practice primarily to all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody and parenting time, spousal support, child support, equitable distribution, post-judgment enforcement matters, cohabitation, and domestic violence. Eric has successfully litigated cases from inception through trial and appeal.

Eric graduated from the George Washington University School of Law which is nationally recognized as a top law school. During his time in law school, Eric gained valuable experience working for a well-known Plaintiff’s mass tort firm as well as the American Society of International Law. Thereafter, Eric served as a judicial law clerk for Appellate Court Judge Hany A. Mawla during his time in the Family Part in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. In this role, Eric gained a unique perspective of how the Court approaches cases in every family court docket. Eric was responsible for drafting Court Orders and mediating disputes between litigants. Eric also holds a Master’s of Science in Taxation degree from Rutgers Business school and worked in a Big 4 Accounting Firm as a tax consultant in a specialized tax group. This experience and knowledge has allowed Eric to have a unique insight and understanding of his clients’ business interests, complex assets and compensation structure.

Drawing upon his experience and legal knowledge, Eric approaches every case individually and crafts a strategy that is designed to meet each client’s unique goals and expectations. In addition to family law, Eric serves as general counsel for small and medium sized businesses assisting with the drafting of organizational documents, contracts, purchase and sale agreements, mergers, acquisitions, litigation and all other aspects of the commercial legal practice. Eric is a member of the bar in New Jersey and Massachusetts.
